Rolex Vintage Date 14ct, 1500/7

We are proud to present this vintage Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date 14ct gold watch for sale.

The Oyster Perpetual Date was first launched in the late 1950s and was one of the first watches to display the date in a window at 3 o’clock on the dial, fulfilling Rolex founder, Hans Wilsdorf’s dreams of producing timepieces that were not only beautiful to look at but were also highly useful and functional. Housed in the legendary Rolex Oyster case, the Date is 34mm in diameter and is water resistant to 100 meters (330 feet). They were available in a variety of case materials and the model was produced all the way up to 1989.

This model reference 1500/7 is presented in a polished solid 14ct yellow gold 34mm Oyster case with pin-hole lugs and a Twinlock screw-down crown. The bezel is a smooth polished finish with a ‘Sigma’ dial that has a matching sunburst gold colour with applied gold baton hour markers with luminous dots on top. The hands are the classic ‘stick’ style and the dial is finished off with the date feature at 3 o’clock with a magnifying cyclops lens for increased legibility. The watch is fitted with acrylic plexi-glass and powered by the workhorse Rolex calibre 1570 automatic, chronometer certified movement and comes fitted on its original matching 14ct gold ‘riveted’ Oyster link bracelet with a folding clasp.

Originally purchased in June 1978 and in mint condition for its age, this Rolex comes with its original inner & outer boxes, instruction booklet, Rolex leather passport holder, previous Rolex service paperwork dated December 2005 and a 12 month warranty from the Swiss Watch Company.
