We are proud to present this stylish vintage Rolex Datejust 36, reference 16030, offered in fine condition for its age and fully checked in our workshop.
Introduced in 1945 and still a cornerstone of the Rolex catalogue today, the Datejust is the brand’s longest-running model and one of the most recognisable watches in horology. It was the first self-winding wristwatch to feature an automatically changing date window at 3 o’clock, a revolutionary innovation at the time. Paired with the waterproof Oyster case, the Datejust became a watch suited to any occasion, admired for its balance of durability, precision, and timeless aesthetics.
This example, reference 16030, is presented in a classic 36mm stainless steel Oyster case and fitted with the distinctive engine-turned bezel, a design element that gives this era of Datejust its unmistakable character. The watch features a refined silver sunburst dial, complete with applied baton hour markers, matching hands, and the iconic date display at 3 o’clock beneath a Cyclops magnifier. The dial is protected by a vintage-correct acrylic plexi crystal, enhancing the warm, traditional appeal of the piece.
Powering the watch is Rolex’s respected calibre 3035 automatic chronometer movement, offering quickset date functionality and excellent long-term reliability. Water resistance to 100m/330ft is achieved through the screw-down crown and caseback. Completing the watch is its original stainless steel Jubilee bracelet with a folding clasp, adding comfort and unmistakable Rolex elegance.
Originally purchased circa 1986, this Datejust is supplied with an excellent period set, including its inner and outer boxes, calendar card, Datejust booklet, Rolex Service Card (2006), green document holder, seal and swing tag.
