Rolex Vintage GMT-Master , 16700

We are delighted to present this stunning vintage Rolex GMT-Master “Pepsi” which has been fully checked by our on-site workshop.

Since its inception in 1954 the Rolex GMT-Master has been the master of the skies and has adorned the wrists of pilots, astronauts and aviation enthusiasts ever since. Originally designed in collaboration with Pan Am Airways, the Rolex GMT-Master was initially created for Pan AM and issued by them to their pilots and crews on long-haul flights. The key feature of the watch was that it allowed the wearer to simultaneously reference two different time zones with its unique 24 hour bi-rotational bezel.

This reference the 16700 is the last GMT-Master model prior to the GMT-Master II, and benefits from some of the modern touches that you expect from current line Rolex such as sapphire crystal glass, but with it's own vintage charm.

This particular model features a faded or 'ghosted' pepsi bezel insert, a tritium dial and a stainless steel oyster bracelet. Originally sold in January 1997, this watch comes with both it's original inner and outer boxes, as well as its calendar card, translation booklet, both instruction booklets, seal, leather wallet and original guarantee certificate.

It is being sold in unpolished collectors condition and is all original with only 1 owner from new.
