Rolex Vintage GMT-Master, 16700

We are delighted to present this stunning vintage Rolex GMT-Master “Pepsi” for sale in fine condition, fully checked and authenticated in our accredited workshop. 

Since its inception in 1954 the Rolex GMT-Master has been the master of the skies and has adorned the wrists of pilots, astronauts and aviation enthusiasts ever since. Originally designed in collaboration with Pan Am Airways, the Rolex GMT-Master was initially created for Pan AM and issued by them to their pilots and crews on long-haul flights. The key feature of the watch was that it allowed the wearer to simultaneously reference two different time zones with its unique 24 hour bi-rotational bezel.

This iteration of the GMT-Master, reference 16700 is the last GMT-Master model prior to the GMT-Master II, and benefits from some of the modern touches that you expect from current line Rolex such as sapphire crystal glass, but with its own vintage charm. It comes set in the classic 40mm stainless steel Oyster case fitted with a bidirectional bezel complete with a gorgeous blue/fuchsia Pepsi bezel insert. The glossy black dial features Tritium hour markers and matching hands, each delicately rimmed in white gold to prevent tarnishing, while a contrasting red hand indicates the second time zone. Positioned at 3 o'clock, the classic date feature adds practicality to the design. Safeguarded by a flat sapphire crystal glass with a Cyclops lens for the date and equipped with a screw-down crown, this GMT-Master II ensures water resistance up to 10atm (100m/330ft). Driven by the automatic calibre 3175 chronometer movement, with the watch completed by a classic stainless steel Jubilee bracelet with embossed crown clasp.

Originally produced in December 1991 and in fine condition for its age, please note there is minor damage throughout, coming supplied with its original inner and outer boxes, swing tag, seal, translation booklet, GMT-Master booklet, Oyster booklet, green leather document holder and it original perforated warranty certificate. 

This GMT-Master was fully serviced by our in-house accredited Rolex watchmaker and is sold with our 24-month service warranty.
