Following on from the success of the ‘Oyster’ models of the 1920’s, Wilsdorf wanted to utilise the revolutionary waterproof technology in his other ranges of watch and throughout the 30’s/40’s the design was made into the iconic 34mm Oyster case as we know it today.

This version the reference 6426 was launched in the 1950s as the more everyday version of Rolexs watches. It comes set in the classic 34mm stainless steel Oyster case with a smooth polished bezel. The dial is a striking sunburst silver colour and has contrasting gold applied arrowhead hour markers and matching gold dauphine hands. The dial is protected by a domed acrylic plexi-glass and the watch has a screw-down crown to protect against moisture and dust. It is powered by a Rolex manual wind mechanism and comes fitted on a brown leather strap with a steel Rolex pin-buckle.

Originally purchased in circa 1966 and in fine condition for its age, this Oyster comes with a genuine Rolex box and is sold with a 12-month warranty from SWC.
