Unique opportunity to acquire this rare Rolex Double Red Sea Dweller reference 1665/0. This watch has been purchased from the original owner who bought it from new from a UK Rolex dealer in 1977/1978. This watch has a rich history behind it. The original owner was a diver in the Royal Navy that was qualified in submariner escape and rescue. In 1975 he left the Navy to join COMEX as a deep sea diver. He is also one of the few people that have dived to 300m in the open sea.
This watch is supplied with the original Rolex boxes and instruction manual. The watch has recently had a service at Rolex that was completed in January 2016. The service receipt and the Rolex service card is also supplied. During the service Rolex replaced the bezel, however the original bezel that was on the watch from when it was first purchased will be included.
Also the watch is supplied with a detailed 3 page letter from the original owner describing his past history as a diver and some of the incredible diving projects he was worked on. He has also supplied copies of dive charts including a copy of the dive he made in 1985 which at the time was the world’s deepest open water dive. Also included are a range of photographs showing some of the projects he has worked on and photographs with him wearing the watch. A fantastic watch with a huge history behind it.
