Since its introduction in 1986, the Tag Heuer Formula 1 collection has remained one of the brand’s most recognisable and enduring lines. Born from Tag Heuer’s deep-rooted connection to motor racing, the Formula 1 was designed to offer sporty styling, everyday durability, and strong value, all while capturing the energy and excitement of the track. Over the years, the collection has evolved from its early brightly coloured designs into a more mature and robust sports watch range, while still retaining the bold character that made it so popular in the first place.

This particular Indy 500 Special Edition celebrates Tag Heuer’s long-standing association with one of the most famous motor races in the world. The Indianapolis 500 is an event steeped in speed, endurance, and motorsport history, making it a natural partner for a brand so closely tied to timing and racing heritage. As a result, this special edition carries a more distinctive and purposeful look than the standard Formula 1 Chronograph, with details that emphasise both its sporting inspiration and collector appeal.

This example is housed in a 43mm stainless steel case with the strong, modern profile that defines the Formula 1 range. It is fitted with a black, red and silver Indy 500 bezel, giving the watch an unmistakably motorsport-led appearance, while the black dial is arranged with three silver chronograph sub-dials at 9, 3 and 6 o’clock. The 6 o’clock register is particularly notable, featuring the Indy 500 logo, reinforcing the special-edition status of the piece. A date aperture completes the dial, while the hands and hour markers are filled with lume for improved legibility. Protected by a flat sapphire crystal and fitted with a screw-down crown, the watch offers the toughness and practicality expected of a modern sports chronograph.

Powering the watch is a Swiss quartz chronograph movement, chosen for its reliability, accuracy, and ease of use.
