Breitling Montbrillant Watches
For the discerning gentlemen among us, the Breitling Montbrillant collection combines traditional styling with inventive genius. The look of this range is inspired by the 1940s and 50s and features the iconic aviation slide rule, originally favoured by the aviation industry.
This Swiss watchmaking brand has been around since 1884 when at just 24 years old, Leon Breitling founded the company with the aim of creating both 'high quality' and 'technical' watches. The Montbrillant range is named after Ruelle Montbrillant street, where the Breitling workshop resided for over 80 years. This workshop was the birthplace of many groundbreaking technical innovations, nestled in the famous watchmaking town of La-Chaux-de-Fonds.
The face of the Montbrillant watch features slender hands and the iconic 1/100th of an hour dial display, typical of the era it was designed around. The watches in this range also sport a curved lettering of the brand name, the company's logo from the first half of the 20th century.
The case back is beautifully engraved and the entire range features stylish leather straps. Supplied with the original Breitling boxes, chronometer certificate, slide rule and instructions, Montbrillant watches are real collectibles and definitely worthy of any serious collection.
'Montbrillant' derives from 'Rue Mont Brillant' a street in the town of a Chaux-de-Fonds where Leon Breitling opened his watch factory in 1892. The Breitling Montbrillant is a chronograph from the Navitimer family which unlike most other models, features a curved Breitling logo rather than the typical winged 'B'- giving it a truly classic feel.
