Cartier Roadster
The Cartier Roadster collection was launched in 2001 and takes inspiration from the sleek and sexy sports cars of the 1950s and 1960s. As a result, the collection is typified by its curvy tonneau-shaped case which is in contrast to other Cartier watches which have square cases and dials.
Carrying on the automotive connection, the oversized magnifying date takes inspiration from the glass windshields of early roadsters, while the winding crown is shaped in the form of a radiator cap.
The Roadster is available in a range of sizes from small to XL which are suitable for men and women. Several models are available in a range of precious and plated metals including Yellow Gold, White Gold and Stainless Steel. These can be complemented by Cartier’s collection of metal bracelets, with leather and rubber straps also available.
Several Roadster models have been released over the years including Chronograph and GMT models. In 2002 Cartier released the entry-level Roadster S which simplified the bezel and removed the date but kept the distinctive case shape.
