The COSC certified Day-Date was the first watch to display the day of the week, without abbreviations, and the calendar date. First introduced in 1956, the Day-Date has continued to be one of the most popular and prestigious timepieces from Rolex, having been worn by more world dignitaries than any other model. It is sold exclusively in 18-carat gold or 950 platinum. Every Date-Date is assembled and adjusted by hand at the Rolex foundry.
Regarded back then as technological triumph, the Rolex Day Date has lived up to its name as one of the most popular watches and timepieces. A little known fact about the Day Date is that one of these is offered to every American President in office at the White House, hence the nickname the “President”. It’s also often known as the most famous model from Rolex with a distinctive dial with the previously mentioned date window which is available in over 25 languages.
