Tag Heuer Autavia Watches
The iconic Tag Heuer Autavia.
The Autavia driver's chronograph from Tag Heuer was initially launched in 1962, soon becoming one of the world's most sought after luxury watches, with wearers including legendary F1 driver, Jochen Rindt. The name, derived from a contraction of automobile and aviation, became synonymous with a classic design including the snailed counters, rotating bezel, and black and white colour palette.
The revival of the 'Rindt' Autavia
In 2017, the Autavia celebrated its 55th anniversary and with it a regeneration of the iconic timepiece. An online campaign saw 50,000 voters choosing a reissue of the Autavia 'Rindt', which embodies the spirit of the golden age of motor racing. The new generation of the Autavia pays tribute to its roots, whilst featuring a contemporary proprietary movement and improved functionality.
Authentic, motor-racing inspired design
The design of the Autavia is timeless and authentic, featuring bevelled horns, a refined bezel, and of course a chic monochrome finish of black dial, three white counters and luminescent inserts. Polished steel baton indexes add an extra touch of class and ruggedness to the legendary chronograph.
