The origins of the large, minimalistic case design for the Portofino can be traced back to the 1970s, when the Lépine pocket watch became the inspiration for the entire watch family. The “pocket-watch-style wristwatch” was presented in 1984 with the name “Portofino”. Since then, this watch family, with timepieces that retain their value and, above all, remain timeless, has been a permanent part of IWC’s collection.

This version the reference IW3565 was first produced in 2011 and is still in production, which is a testament to the longevity of the model. Set in a polished 40mm stainless steel case with smooth rounded edges for a comfortable fit on the wrist. The clean black dial conforms to the clean minimalist IWC design and features slim applied contrasting silver baton hour markers and matching feuille/leaf hands with applied 12/6 Roman numerals. At 3 o’clock there is a date window for enhanced functionality. Protected by a domed sapphire crystal glass and powered by the IWC calibre 35111 automatic wind mechanism, the watch comes fitted on a black IWC alligator leather strap with a steel pin buckle.

Originally purchased in August 2016 and in mint condition, this Portofino comes with its original inner and outer box, instruction booklet, guarantee booklet, cleaning cloth, original receipt and international warranty card. It is under our 12-month warranty from the date of sale.
