First introduced in 1945, the Datejust revolutionized the watchmaking industry by being the first self-winding chronometer to display the date in a window on the dial; an innovation that has since become a standard feature in countless watches. This iteration of the Datejust, reference 116238 comes set in a polished 36mm 18ct yellow gold Oyster case with matching fluted bezel. The mother of pearl dial features applied 18ct yellow gold Roman numeral hour indexes, matching hands, printed black bannering and the classic date feature at 3 o’clock. The dial is protected by a flat sapphire crystal with a cyclops lens for the date. The watch is fitted with a screw-down crown which allows for the water resistance of 10atm (100m/330ft), with this Datejust powered by the Rolex calibre 3135 automatic movement. Lastly, the watch comes presented on the iconic 18ct yellow gold Jubilee bracelet with a concealed crown clasp. 

Originally sold in August 2013 and in mint condition, supplied with its original inner and outer boxes, both booklets,, both swing tags, leather warranty holder and original international warranty card.
